Lost Planet’s Jo Lewandowska on How Soundgarden, Sofia Coppola, and Banksy Shaped Her Creative Lens
April 15, 2026The Lost Planet editor looks back on her career milestones, including her latest work with beabadoobee and adidas, as part of LBB’s The Work That Made Me series.
Jo Lewandowska grew up in a small Polish town near the Baltic Sea. There, she studied Communist-era cinema, theatre, and literature, learning to search for hidden meanings, metaphors, and allegories in the work. If it weren’t for a high school job at a local TV station, this experience would have led Jo to become an investigative journalist. Instead, she’s an editor. In an alternate universe, she’s exposing geopolitical truths for the betterment of humanity. Still, this element of Jo’s background significantly shaped her editorial approach and her intuitive ability to create evocative, emotionally compelling narratives with a lot of heart. So, win/win.
Her precise, rhythmic sensibility makes her a natural fit for narrative-driven music videos – working with artists like Wolf Alice, beabadoobee, and Christina Aguilera. Jo’s storytelling instinct carries through to her award-winning commercial work for Lindex and Waitrose, as well as a branded short film for Ffern featuring Bill Nighy. She has edited campaigns for global brands including Honda, Dove, Tanqueray, Nike, adidas, Schweppes, and Pandora, as well as fashion films for Max Mara and GQ x Gucci.
