About Now with Phong Bui
The Brooklyn-based artist, writer and curator reflects on the philosophy of creating from the former glass factory that houses his Greenpoint Studio
Vietnamese-born artist, writer, curator, and co-founder of The Brooklyn Rail, Phong Bui, opens his Greenpoint studio to director Kalum Ko for the short film, About Now with Phong Bui.

Exploring his life philosophy and conducting meditations on paper from the industrial space of concrete, steel, and metal – housed in an old glass factory – Phong considers the potential to engage spiritually through the act of creating. Moving away from a traditional artist profile, Ko captures the intersection of Phong’s personal and professional worlds by connecting with the feeling of being in his presence: the fragments, gestures, conversations, and quiet moments.
