Epoch’s Matias & Mathias Direct “No Jeans” for Olga Basha

Life gets pretty awkward without jeans, as we discover in denim maker Olga Basha’s new short film. The third installment of an offbeat series, directed by Matias & Mathias, “No Jeans” stars actress Annie Hamilton as a woman attempting to navigate New York without pants, an increasingly uncomfortable predicament that unfolds with the straight-faced seriousness of an indie art film.

The trouble begins when Hamilton’s character leaves her apartment bare-legged. She briefly returns home to get a forgotten bag but somehow neglects to address the more obvious wardrobe problem. Undeterred, she boards the subway, crosses busy streets and heads to meet a friend for lunch, behaving as though nothing is unusual.
Her outfit finally becomes an issue when a restaurant refuses to let her inside, which leads her to seek help from a passerby—asking to borrow her Olga Basha jeans. Naturally, the woman refuses, which is a nice backward way into promoting the product.

Speaking last year about the series, Matias & Mathias, repped by Epoch Films, said it was fun to “keep coming up with new ways to make a simple, unassuming pair of pants a cinematic hero and to get to keep collaborating with the talented people who worked on these.”
